Fish of the month:Golden Puffer
By Randy Owens
Often considered the “Holy Grail” of the puffer fish family, it is one of the most sought after members of the group. With its 24k gold like appearance the creature feature for this month is going to have to be the rare and exotic Golden Puffer.
Although this fish is not highly aggressive, its diet consist of a lot of meaty foods such as squid, krill, clams, and also live fish such as goldfish.
This puffer needs plenty of space to swim, so if you are interested in keeping one of these puffers you will need at least a 150 gallon tank. More than one of these puffers can be kept in a tank at once, and they can grow up to 1 foot. The price of one of these puffers can cost a lot though, for a 5-6 inch one you will be spending about $250.00, so you might want to check you water parameters before you invest in one of these.
